Patients with dementia require special care.
This can be especially difficult for both the patient and their loved ones. We find that dementia patients are typically less resistant to receiving assistance with personal care needs from a caregiver than from a family member. Our nurses work with the client’s family to create a comfortable environment including simple routines and visual cues as a positive substitute for diminishing mental processes.

Our All Female Secure Dementia Care Unit also helps with those patients that are higher functioning but may be at higher risk for elopement. The All Female Secure Dementia Care Unit also has activities to keep them busy, as well as their own living and dining room.
